RedLine A-5, Distressed

REDLINE A-5 #006

This is a one-of -a-kind Distressed A-5 RedLine Acoustics Mandolin.  #006.

The idea here was to see what one of our RedLine Acoustics A-5 Mandolins might look like after 40-50 years of hard playing, so we enlisted the help of our luthier friend Jonathan McClanahan to perform his renowned “Aging” routine on this mandolin. As you can see, it appears to have been “rode hard and put up wet” more than a time or two, but rest assured, it’s really a recently built instrument, with everything perfect where you need it for tone and playability, including a Cumberland Acoustic Bridge and top of the line (aged) James Tailpiece. If I had an old, beat up case, I’d throw it in with the deal, but you’ll have to settle for a brand new shaped hard shell case or hard sided gig bag.

The combination of the Adirondack Spruce, Red Maple, and our to notch Cumberland Acoustic appointments, this mandolin offers everything you need in tone and playability. Great voice, well balanced volume across all strings, nice chop. The radiused fretboard and our own Pro-Style Set-Up make it easy to play, and our own adjustable bridge allows for quick and easy changes in action height to accommodate your particular playing style.

Red Spruce Top, Eastern Hard Maple Book-Matched Back and Sides, 12″ Radiused Ebony Fretboard with Mother of Pearl Dots and .080″ frets, Ebony Headstock Overlay, James Tailpiece, Cumberland Acoustic Adjustable Ebony Bridge, Adjustable Truss Rod, Bone Nut, Grover #309 Tuners, Aged and Distressed Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish over a vintage sunburst. Hard Shell Case or Gig Bag included (your choice).
