WEBBER F-5 MANDOLIN
Built by Mr. Ray Webber. I believe this luthier worked with Ray Dearstone for some time, and may have absorbed some of his building techniques. I showed this mandolin to Mr. Dearstone recently, and he spoke quite highly of Mr. Webber. Never met the man myself, but this is a nice mandolin!
As you can see from the photo, this mandolin is pretty much an F-5 style, but has diverged slightly from traditional F-5 design. It does sport a maple back, sides, and neck, and the top is spruce. The peghead is not the scrolled type, and the fretboard is a bit abbreviated (not extended, anyway). Hardware is gold, and it has a Weber tailpiece. All of the maple is highly figured, and the mandolin is in pretty good shape. There is a small amount of fret wear, and the finish is worn off on a small area on the treble side of the neck. Just normal playing wear, really.
This mandolin has a very nice tone. I am surprised at how LOUD it is. No maple bridge needed here!
A shaped TKL hardshell case is included with this mandolin. Price -Reduced to $2800
